چکیده
In this work we present FELINE, a C++ solver of the Reynolds equation for treating hydrodynamic lubrication problems. To correctly describe cavitation regions, FELINE implements inexact Newton iteration (INE) algorithm within finite element method (FEM) framework. The was tested and validated against known cases in literature industrially relevant dimpled textures. Furthermore, provide benchmark complex texture case to evaluate performance robustness implementation. performs very fast when compared with existing implementations shows great degree stability, while providing physically correct solutions thanks INE algorithm. MILAMIN: MATLAB-based finite element method solver for large problems
[1] The finite element method (FEM) combined with unstructured meshes forms an elegant and versatile approach capable of dealing with the complexities of problems in Earth science. Practical applications often require high-resolution models that necessitate advanced computational strategies. We therefore developed ‘‘Million a Minute’’ (MILAMIN), an efficient MATLAB implementation of FEM that is...

An Inexact Newton-Type Method for Inverse Singular Value Problems
In this paper, an inexact Newton-type approach is proposed for solving inverse singular value problems. We show that the method converges superlinearly. This method can reduce significantly the oversolving problem of the Newton-type method and improve the efficiency. Numerical experiments is also presented to illustrate our results.
متن کاملA Finite Newton Method for Classification Problems
A fundamental classification problem of data mining and machine learning is that of minimizing a strongly convex, piecewise quadratic function on the n-dimensional real space Rn. We show finite termination of a Newton method to the unique global solution starting from any point in Rn. If the function is well conditioned, then no stepsize is required from the start, and if not, an Armijo stepsiz...
متن کاملInexact Newton methods for inverse eigenvalue problems
In this paper, we survey some of the latest development in using inexact Newton-like methods for solving inverse eigenvalue problems. These methods require the solutions of nonsymmetric and large linear systems. One can solve the approximate Jacobian equation by iterative methods. However, iterative methods usually oversolve the problem in the sense that they require far more (inner) iterations...
